open lasertag Dead?

I was hoping to find current esp32 milesII based projects but all of them are older than 3yrs. I don’t see an affordable tactical lasertag solution for modifying airsoft weapons on the market. Laserwars/alphatag are the best commercial solution out there but WAY too expensive for average users.
If anyone is still working on opensource esp32 solutions please post here.
